Fukasaku Kenta 
Born in 1972, Tokyo. He worked for several TV series as an assistant director. He has been in directing career since Battle Royale II (2003) which he succeeded from late Kinji Fukasaku.
Oshii Mamoru  
Born in 1951, Oshii graduated from the Department of Art Education from the Tokyo University of Arts. He produced a 16mm short film while at college. Once graduated, he briefly worked at a radio broadcasting station and then moved to an animation company called Tatsunoko Productions. The success of theater animation in 1983 brought him fame. In 1989, he became one of the representative figures of Japanese animation with his animation . (1995), the landmark animation for himself and for Japan, enjoyed global popularity. In his works such as , , and , Oshii tries to delve into the profound human nature living in a grim future where computers take over humans.
Tahara Minoru 
Born in 1971, Osaka. His talent was discovered during the contest which Oshii took part as a jury. This is his debut as a major film director.
Tsujimoto Takanori 
Born in 1971, Osaka. He has been shooting genuine action films ever since his career in independent filmmaking. He has been extending his career to various fields including promotion films and making films.
