Review

Santiago, Italia contemplates Italy’s role in the Pinochet coup d'etat in Chile. Nanni Moretti interviews the Chileans who left their homeland and emigrated to Italy. After long interviews and archival images, the film goes into details of the fallen dream toward democracy brought by Salvador Allende due to the coup d'etat. The historic lesson from those experienced the rise and death of Allende who was later elected as the president of Chile in the 1970s gives
suggestions to the current days Italy tilting toward the right. [JANG Byungwon]
