Based on true events, Stitches takes place in contemporary Belgrade, 18 years after a young seamstress was coldly informed of her newborn´s sudden death. She still believes the infant was stolen. Dismissed by others as paranoid and with a mother’s determination, she starts the one last battle against the police and hospital bureaucracy to uncover the truth.
A film based on the story of a tailor who found her child in 18 years because of the civil war in Yugoslavia. She heard her child was suddenly dead, but even after a long time, she is obsessed with the idea that her child is alive. She visits the hospital where she gave birth to her child and asks for help from the police, but people remain silent. Then she gets a clue from the hospital and finds the house where her son was adopted to. In the latter part, the irony of history and the barren reality are stitched by the maternity. [LEE Sang-yong]
