Marcela’s sister had suddenly passed away. As Marcela grieves, she also faces the painful process of purging her sister’s possessions. When a young friend of her daughter, Nacho, offers to help her, she finds unexpected comfort and their relationship steadily develops. During these confusing days, Marcela’s past and present intertwines and she begins to question herself.
Marcela’s world falls apart after the death of her older sister, Rina. The loss of sisterhood means she feels lost in her own house, which puts a strain on her relationship with her husband and children. When she meets her daughter’s boyfriend, Nacho, her life takes an unexpected turn. Director Maria Alche seems interested in the blurry combination of dreams, memories and reality. The camera’s gentle gaze at Marcela in a trancelike state takes us closer to her mind. Her mysterious psychological journey plays a pivotal role in this melodrama. [JANG Byungwon]
