Review

What would a most stem and innocent film look like? (although it must be different for everyone) Just like films by Robert Bresson and Jean-Luc Godard, Jean-Marie Staraub and Daniele Huillets films are at the summit of film art. The two modern giants of film, Jean-Marie Straub and Daniele are fundamentally dubious about cinematic conventions and rhetoric. They in turn, return to the origins of the film, and whereby creating cinematic masterpieces using minimum paradigm. The two couple is almost seventy yeans old-however, in spite of their age, they created Primarily based on the process of montage, this was filmed as part of Portuguese director Pedro Costas . Born in 1959 in Lisbon, Portugal. He is a director and writer. While studying history at University of Lisbon, Costa switched to film courses at Lisbon Theatre and Film School. In 2001, with his documentary film In Vanda´s Room(2000), he won France Culture Award at Cannes Film Festival. His major works are Down To Earth(1994), Bones(1997), and Colossal Youth(2006).
