The 22nd JEONJU International Film Festival’s Official Trailer Revealed!
• The slogan “Film Goes On” expresses the spirit of the film that refuses to stop even in the pandemic era
• Directed by HAN Byunga of The End of the Universe, the winner of the Korean Competition for Shorts at the 21st festival
The 22nd JEONJU International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF, Festival Director LEE Joondong) which will start on April 29 with the slogan “Film Goes On” has released the official trailer for this year's film festival.
This film festival's official trailer focuses on showing the dynamic images of films to express the wish to have films continue despite having everything come to a halt due to COVID-19. In particular, the cheerful traditional music will enhance the dynamic element. Despite having the pandemic present, the longing filmmakers and audience have to meet with the world through films, art, and film festivals are expressed in the trailer, as well as the desire to have films continuously move forward into the future without stopping.
The official trailer for the 22nd JEONJU IFF was directed by Han Byunga, who has been showing us various animation works, while NOZANOZA, music by Korean traditional crossover group Akdangwangchil, was used. Han Byunga’s filmography includes Lady’s Night (2011), Mrs. Romance (2016), The Peaceful Holiday (2017), and The End of the Universe (2020), which won the Grand Prize in the Korean Competition for Shorts at the 21st JEONJU IFF. Han said, “I focused on the spirit of films that’s still alive and moving despite how everything became stagnant due to the pandemic.” She added, “Although we’re all dreary and none of us can be sure when we’ll be able to return to our regular daily lives again, I wanted to express that films will continue to dream infinitely in hope and determination, and Akdangwangchil’s music becomes a wonderful inspiration in that respect.”
The official trailer for the 22nd JEONJU IFF will be introduced to the audience at every festival venue on Jeonju Film Street from April 29 to May 8.
