All you hear and see from now on are GOOD for you.
“Good or gut refers to a shamanistic ritual in Korean. Shamans wash away any impurity and wish for wellbeing through song and dance.” This is how the film starts. You may expect that the film is about the gut ritual. However, against our expectations, we are bombarded with some spiritual, indescribable image and sound. Soon after, we are completely overwhelmed by the energy they make. There is no particular story in GOOD for you. It starts with the sound of a gong, rough breathing thirsty for more air, and the image of an ink wash painting, and keeps expanding its world. The film doesn’t ask the audience to sympathize with the characters’ pain and anger or fall in love with them. All it asks is to fully join the six-minute cinematic experience. In this sense, the film is an invitation to the world of gut. And it is “GOOD” for you. (KIM Mijo)
