Amidst a worldwide pandemic that causes sudden amnesia, middle-aged Aris finds himself enrolled in a recovery program designed to help unclaimed patients build new identities.
A short-term amnesia epidemic raged. In a pandemic created by the director, the government tries to prevent social collapse by replacing private memories of the individual with omnipresent and social experiences. For people with replaced memories, accept the photo records, presented by the government as a part of the treatment, as a scene of life. The film, with a horrible and whimsy setting, leads the story of memory with the power of emotion and mood setting. The protagonist is struck by loneliness and emptiness when he meets someone and experience “alive.” So, the removed memories are not something he misses but fearful. The fear of how to deal with the emotions that are attached to lost memories. Compared to a representative film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that focuses on the relationship between memory and emotion, this film insists that emotion is a core of memory in an opposite way. At a place where the lonesomeness of being is acknowledged leads to the search for "I." (Stella HWANG)
