Overview

The story of teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg is told through compelling, never-before-seen footage in this documentary following her rise to prominence and her global impact as she sparks school strikes and protests around the world.

Review

In August 2018, at age 15, Greta Thunberg started spending her school days outside the Swedish Parliament for a one-person protest by holding up a picket “Skolstrejk för klimatet (school strike for climate)” and the climate change movement takes a new turn starting with this outcry. Other students began similar protests in their areas and spread around the world. They organized a school strike for climate movement under the name “Fridays for Future.” In December of the same year, Thunberg gave a speech at the 2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference and became a voice representing a generation. She received three consecutive nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize. To attend the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit in New York, Thunberg chose to spend 14 days sailing, instead of a greenhouse gas-emitting plane, across the Atlantic Ocean. “You say you love your children above all else and yet you are stealing their future in front of their very eyes,” said Greta Thunberg.
This film not only shows an iconic figure Greta’s activities and achievements but also her personal life. She is turning her Asperger syndrome into a driving force of the climate change movement and calling us for urgent action to address the crisis together. (CHUN Jinsu)
