Artists who have lost freedom of movement start to transfer into the online environment, VRChat. However, because of maladjustment with their in-game bodies, they have gathered again in the KIN shelter. Three artists become virtual refugees as role-playing and try to overcome the technophobia of virtual reality.
A work of Machinima (a word compound of machine and cinema, the animation produced by computer graphic engines provided by video games) deals with the field of VR that is penetrating into the realm of art. Hyejee, who has been creating characters for months, gets hurt because it was duplicated by others; Minjee, who is ignored for lack of understanding of technology; and Jihye, who wants to protect game characters sexually exploited. Through these characters, the film points out the serious problems of the online space and insists on the need for a shelter called "KIN." It is a film located on the cutting edge of contemporary art. (MOON Seok)
