The latest film by Alex Gibney, a leading American documentary director who created films including Academy Award-winning documentary The Armstrong Lie (2013) and Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (2005). To release the film before the US presidential election, he rushed to complete the project and worked with two other directors. It reveals the fact in detail through the mouths of the personnels inside and outside the government on how president Donald Trump was a heinous and brazen figure that did not prepare nor take any responsibility for the COVID-19 crisis. It also exposes how Trump’s the U.S. confronted this historical pandemic compared to other countries, especially with South Korea. Taking the difficult situation of filming into account, the production crew sent out a “Corona Kit” including a camera and various auxiliary devices to the interviewees and conducted interviews online.
