COMPANIONS deals with the love between people and dogs. It’s made up of scenes of intimacy—caresses, habits, games, cares, stories of coming and loss, of protection, and uprooting. The stories intertwine and make up a map of love and its enigmas.
This unique documentary about companion dogs begins by remembering the stories of a woman with the dogs she had from her youth to the senior years. Now, the word “petiquette” is familiar to us, and various TV shows about companion dogs are overflowing on TV. But with this film, we can see that Argentina is also the same with high interests in companion dogs. Each dog owner talks about a special encounter and the relationships between them and their companion dogs. We can also learn that the situations of abandoned dogs and race dogs are not much different from ours. But most of all, the simple truth that we know through this film is that after all, one thing that makes humans the happiest with their dogs is just being by their side and playing with them.
