Chihiro, a middle school kid, has been raised by parents with a lot of care. But her parents are fanatic believers of a shady cult that they claim it miraculously heals her illness. For the first time in her young life, Chihiro begins to doubt her parents and the world she lives in.
Chihiro is an ordinary middle school girl who adores her handsome teacher and grows with so much love from her parents. But her parents are fallen into a cult religion, believe that Venus has healed Chihiro’s illness as a child. Friends and teachers find out about her parents and start to leave out Chihiro. Hurt by that, she also attends a religious ceremony with her parents. Did Chihiro really get healed by Venus? And can she blame her parents who are giving true love just because they are in a cult religion?
The film, which is a film adaptation of Imamura Natsuko’s novel of the same name, is starring Ashida Mana, who was featured in Bunny Drop (2011) and known as a “genius child actor,” showing the delicate emotions and freshness of an adolescent girl. (CHUN Jinsu)
