Plant Cafe, Warmth
Hyeonjae was a war correspondent who quit due to his trauma of war. Thinking of the special communication he had with plants as a kid, he returns to his grandfather´s arboretum. At that very place, he gains the courage to live on and decides to run a plant café in the city. To his customers who seek him out with their stories and plants, Hyeonjae provides a remedy for not only their plants but also their hearts.
The main character Hyunjae heals people’s past trauma through communication with plants. The film is about customers, who visit the Café Warmth with stories, and Hyunjae, who treats customers’ plants. He gives courage to the woman, who came to pot her sansevieria plant, to look inside of her. He offers a solution to the couple, who came to save the rotten plant, to live an independent life. Also, he delivers hope to his junior, who came with photos of their past, to adapt to a new environment. The film shows the wounds and healing processes of the customers, but in fact, it tells that HyunJae becomes a solid person and heals his wounds. Plant Cafe, Warmth is neither a fast tempo nor about intense conflict. It´s about the worries that everyone has at least once in their lives, and the story will be your story before you know.
