Ah-ee didn’t set out to play a zombie from the start. All she wanted was a new challenge that would expand her acting spectrum. After a while, she realizes she’s not getting anywhere and vows never to play a zombie again. Yet, she once again finds herself in the same role. Tired and jaded, Ah-ee starts releasing her emotions on set in a whole new way.
After playing a zombie a few times, this actor ends up being a professional zombie actor. She plays her part twisting her body with a growling sound, but isn’t there anyone becoming an actor just to play zombies? Thanks to the booming of zombie content, it is now common to see numerous extras shriek, all covered in blood. 29th breath humorously employs the characteristics of the genre while raising a question about dreams and real life that is not to be taken lightly. The film evokes a smile all along up to the last scene, where the audience will feel a knot in their throats. [JIN Myunghyun]
