Two friends have recently broken up with their lovers. While taking a walk in a forest in Seoul, they find a bag on a bench. After some time, they travel to Gangwon-do to have their fortunes read. Someone appears out of the blue and yells that the bag is hers.
The “owners” of this film have a hard time accepting that forfeiting is as irresistible as falling in love. Two friends, who are dealing with their respective heartbreak in different ways, struggle to handle a bag they found on the streets. As a few isolated times and spaces are getting grafted with nonchalance, the empty bag becomes a symbol that only exists in its form as it asks forlorn questions: How easy is it to believe that we are the owners of relationships or hearts? On the other hand, what kind of journey do we need for us to acknowledge that we do not need to be the owners every single time? The Owners looks for the answers while chasing the tail of dejection.
