Review

Tsai Ming-Liang visits Hong Kong at the end of 2019 for a show centered around an old song. Like many Asians, he has childhood memories and affection for Hong Kong’s vibrant culture in the past. Walking through Causeway Bay at night after a turbulent day full of protests, he begins to photograph the scenery around him. A seemingly familiar city at night unfolds on the screen but as an old Chinese song from the 1940s is heard in the background, Tsai Ming-Liang's magic envelops the landscape of the city with heart and emotion.
