Working at a special cleaning company, Yong-hyeok and Gyeong-hyeon are sent to a lonely house. Yong-hyeok finds a big bag in the corner while cleaning. In the bag, there is a bundle of checks and he thinks about the house in an open field he’s dreamed of.
Director Yoon Hyojin's Loss is a film that tells the story of human greed and dilemma, packaged as a thriller. Yong-hyeok and Gyeong-hyeon, two workers for a special cleaning company, arrive in a dark and lonely house. When they find a bag full of money, the two warily watch each other with tension. Showing us how weak trust is in the face of material wealth, this film maximizes the projection of that weakness through the addition of Yong-hyeok's claustrophobia. This is quite a brave short film, conveying the pleasures of the thriller genre and a chilly atmosphere through the nervous tension and wariness that fill the screen. [CHOI Jinyoung]
