In Toronto, some artists, critics, and collectors experience a short holiday from employment through Canada's various emergency response benefits (CERB, CRB). During this period of exuberance and uncertainty, they grow into new ideas and ways of thinking, as the old forms are no longer satisfying.
88:88 (2015) was his debut film which was too unique to be categorized, and thus drew a lot of interest from international film festivals. Under the inspirational guidance of Jean-Luc Godard and Alain Badiou, this was a fierce experimental film well armed with a unique montage that seems to tell history by talking about the lack of jobs and opportunities. Night is Limpid also takes place in the same world but is the opposite in terms of style. During breaks, friends and critics gather like philosophers to discuss new ideas, new approaches for art and most of all, human relationships. The difference between them and the ancient philosophers is that this film takes place in modern buildings, not in caves. [Sung MOON]
