Devil's Peak
Through overlapping poetic narratives and coded references, the film reflects on recent unprecedented shifts in the socio-cultural fabric of the artist’s homeland of Hong Kong, creating a site of remembrance for a time and place that may never be as it was.
Simon Liu shows Hong Kong after the Hong Kong demonstrations again, following his former work, Happy Valley (2014). Rather than showing political actions directly, he tries to remember traces of what the city used to be. His series of short films chronicling Hong Kong has become a collection of snapshots illustrating how Hong Kong has changed over time. [Sung MOON]
