Gyeong-ah works as a caregiver and lives alone. The only one she can rely on is her daughter, Yeon-su, but it's hard to see her after she moved out on her own. Meanwhile, Yeon-su, who is suffering from her ex-boyfriend, Sang-hyun, argues with him again and visits her mother’s house. After Yeon-su left, Gyeong-ah receives a shocking message from a stranger.
Gyeong-ah, a middle-aged woman who works as a care worker, has thought she was quite close to her daughter, Yeon-su, a teacher. But that was until she got a naked video of her daughter from an unknown number. Director Kim Jung-eun's Mother and daughter seems to be inspired by the Nth Room case that shocked Korean society, but rather than a social drama, it's a story about the curious relationship between mother and daughter. The film realistically portrays Yeon-su's suffering because of this incident but focuses more on how she gets out of the swamp and heals herself. Of course, it's hard to see Yeon-su who only blames herself even though she's not responsible for it, and her mother, Gyeong-ah, who is struggling because things she wants to do for her daughter don't go her way. But fortunately, there is close communication between these two like any other mother-daughter relationship. [MOON Seok]
