Review

As the title suggests, this film is a story about legends and myths that are passed down orally. As with all legends, it may not have been real. Perhaps this film is a fantasy, a story created by a crazy man named Luciano who wants to take the audience to Tierra del Fuego, known as the end of the world. The director borrows all possible cinematic forms and genres such as forbidden love, treason, tragedy, and hidden treasures to portray the protagonist's misfortune. The Tale of King Crab is the first feature film co-directed by Alessio Rigo de Righi and Matteo Zoppis about a fable of guilt that grows into an obsession. [Sung MOON]

Born in 1986. They are Italian-American directors. Their collaboration started with the short documentary Black Beast (2013) and the award-winning feature documentary Il Solengo (2015). Their work focuses on folk tales and legends of the peasant tradition and on the incomplete and imperfect mechanism of an oral tradition that ends up giving rise to new stories. The Tale of King Crab is their first fiction feature film.
