Overview

Middle-aged actress Hwaryeong could not attend her film's premiere due to a sudden stroke. Her coworkers visit and tell her the story of the completed film, but their stories don't match for some reason. Hwaryeong falls asleep alone, and she wants to embrace everything.

Review

Hwaryeong, a mid-aged actress who collapsed from a cerebral infarction right after filming ended, could not attend the premiere of her lead role. Instead, after the premiere, her co-workers visit one by one and tell her their version of narratives about the movie, which she can't remember. Some say that the incident happened because Hwaryeong ran away from home, while another says that the incident happened when her ex-husband left the home she went looking for him. If the stories told by her colleagues are the first part, then the contradictory stories she heard are paradoxically reproduced in the second part, which seems to be in her dream. Regardless of Us directed by YOO Heong-jun, embarrasses the viewer. Two worlds audaciously coexisting in polar opposite statements are chaotic. However, living in contrasting two worlds is not rare, as Hwaryeong says in the latter part. The film shows the gaps and contradictions between conflicting objective truth and subjective truth, facts and falsehoods, or reality and film in a dichotomized world. (MOON Seok)
