Overview

The film is a record of interviews of Godard’s films by two young aspiring directors, a Korean and a French, visiting Godard’s studio in 2002. It consists of questions and answers about the way of cinematically thinking, working method, and filmmaking of Godard, who has constantly created a new language for cinema.

Review

In January 2002, filmmaker Cori SHIM set out to the small Swiss town of Rolle to interview Godard. The 20-year-old interview is finally out in the world in the form of this film. Godard shined as a filmmaker, debater, and public speaker during his lifetime. Not only his press interviews but also his narration for his films are proof of this. It is thrilling to hear him speak (in person). His ideas are never far from controversial and constantly creative, making us think again about what we believe in films, political issues, and how all these are interdependent. Godard's oral statement in this film shows that he still is an inspiration and stimulation even after so many years. (Sung MOON)
