On Lunar New Year's Day, jobless siblings Sumin and Jeongmin struggle to escape their elders' judgment. Meanwhile, Jaeyeong, who has just been accepted into Seoul National University, receives all the attention. All three lead to a heated play Yut, a traditional Korean board game.
Sumin is applying for a job. Jeongmin failed college entrance for two consecutive years and is preparing for the third try. At a family gathering, they feel uncomfortable surrounded by the elder elites of their family. Their cousin Jaeyeong shows off the acceptance letter from the prestigious Seoul National University, which annoys the two losers, leading them to invite Jaeyeong to a Yut-nori game match. The film faithfully follows the rules of comedy films. It always has fun, never emphasizing the ego issues Sumin and Jeongmin go through. The special back-do rule makes them go back, a blessing in disguise leading them to win. As long as we cherish hope, taking one step back can lead us to leap forward. (JEONG Ji-hye)
