Nina works as a multi-level marketer to raise medical expenses for her mother's surgery. On the day she quits the job, she sees an aurora shining in her place. The next day, she bumps into siblings who ask for a refund for a multi-level item on the way to pay for her mother's hospital bills.
This film unfolds from a worker's perspective in a multilevel marketing scheme. She has reasons for being in this business, so she cannot easily drop it. More importantly, the reality this film depicts does not have perfect villains. All the trickery, fraud, and lies are coincidental consequences of each of their stories colliding. This film quietly gazes at the moment of distortion where the trouble of others that previously seemed distant and irrelevant suddenly arrives in your present. While the title, Aurora, is ironic in the face of the reality that cannot be as dazzling, this film makes you gladly look into the spectacle. (KIM Yesolbi)
