Clorindo Testa
This film might be about Clorindo Testa. And if it isn’t, then what is it about? Is it about the director’s life, about his father’s life, about his country’s life? Or could it be just one of those biopics that proliferate in film festivals, in which the narrator pulls old pictures from within a box?
Despite the fact that the title only mentions one name, the protagonists of this film are two, or maybe three. Clorindo Testa was an Argentine architect and artist, as well as author of some of the most notable buildings in Argentina. Julio Llinás, writer and poet, was his friend and also wrote a book about Clorindo Testa and his work. Mariano LLINÁS, the director of this film, is commissioned to make a documentary about the architect's work and will use his father's book as a starting point. Based on this premise, the director assumes the task of making a documentary about the architect, his work and his relationship with the world of Argentine culture and politics, trying to prevent the film from becoming a typical documentary about fathers and sons. Will it be possible? (Sung MOON)
