MASQUERADE drew attention with its stellar cast, including Isabelle Adjani, Pierre Niney, Marine Vacth, and François Cluzet, and was inspired by personal experiences and an unpublished novel by director Nicolas BEDOS, as well as classic Hollywood films by Billy Wilder and Alfred Hitchcock. The film begins with the famous quote by Somerset Maugham that goes, "The French Riviera is a sunny place for shady people." A former dancer named Adrien squanders his youth after being injured in an accident and meets Martha, a neurotic actress, and becomes her plaything. Then his life changes when he meets Margot. The two people live with each other's heartbreaks and design a scam to escape their painful realities. And they choose to target Simon, who is in real estate.
