Hot-tempered and fiercely independent, Julia finds escape in a passion for motorcycles and the high-octane world of urban ‘Rodeos’ - illicit gatherings where riders show off their bikes and their latest daring stunts. After a chance meeting at a Rodeo, Julia finds herself drawn into a clandestine and volatile clique and, striving to prove herself to the ultra-masculine group, she is faced with a series of escalating demands that will make or break her place in the community.
An untamed woman is always enticing. Director Lola QUIVORON has created a character named Julia based on a rare female biker she met in a real motorcycle community. For people who find it impossible to escape their fate or those who are so poor that committing a crime is a natural solution to make ends meet, a motorcycle is a tool to go against all the rules that dictate the world. The roar of the motorcycles is their voice of resistance against all the social norms that restrict them as they feel liberated on the ride, albeit for a brief moment. And as with all great films, RODEO will have the audience look back on the reality of our society through Julia and her story. (Sung MOON)
