Hyun-jung’s boyfriend, sung-gil has a drinking problem. sung-gil promises her he won’t overdrink again and even writes it down on paper. But when he goes on another binge and becomes an ugly drunk, Hyun-jung declares that she will leave him. He begs her for another chance, only to fail again. Now, there is only one solution: an atomic punch from her.
Conflicts between old lovers are endless repetitions. sung-gil has nasty drinking habits that never change, and Hyun-jung decides to break up with him. Their relationship seems to end soon but just lingers on. Watching Hyun-jung throwing a nuclear punch at sung-gil feels so right, even gratifying. With musical and fantasy techniques, the film delightfully approaches the problems between lovers, which could become a cliché. (HONG Jihye)
