WILL-O'-THE-WISP
On his deathbed, royal highness Alfredo is taken back to distant youth memories when he dreamt of becoming a fireman. The encounter with instructor Afonso from the fire brigade opens a new chapter in the life of the two young men immersed in love, desire, and the will to change the status quo.
Alfredo, who was born a Portuguese prince, wants to become a fireman and leaves the safety of the royal family. Hoping to experience everything from the bottom of the food chain as an average person, he follows his firefighting instructor Alfonso and falls in love. The movie is set in the year 2069. While the setup of a white prince and a black fireman symbolizes many things in and of themselves, the director deals with sensitive topics of Portuguese history, politics, hierarchy, race, and the traditional music of Fado in satirical humor. WILL-O'-THE-WISP, just like its title, is a seasoned and fun-loving gay fantasy musical. (Sung MOON)
