Overview

Fourteen-year-old girl, Da-bin, and her family can’t afford a proper funeral for her mother. When the family finds out that the cremation cost is cheaper if they cremate her in the precinct of her mother’s old registered address, the family goes on a journey to give her a proper burial, but the journey proves to be complicated.

Review

Mom could not get proper treatment because of money. But even after her death, a funeral is a luxury for Da-bin and her family. In the cruel reality that requires money, even for grieving, they don't give up and fight hard to send her well. A piece of preservative carelessly thrown into her mother's coffin, and a dumpling made of leaves that reminds her of mom. Everything makes perfect sense in this clumsy but truthful film. Born in 1985, Seoul, Korea. She majored in directing at KAFA (33rd graduate class). In 2018, she made her feature debut with Our Body. She has directed several short films including Affogato (2016), Blind (2017), and Tombstone Refugee.
