MISHIMA Yukiko heard people crying at dawn on April 22, 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic started. She considered it a sign of ‘being alive’ and planned a self-documentary with her colleagues, who all were forced to stop working due to lockdown, resulting in Alone Together. She created each episode, communicating with the actors while directing remotely, and the project progressed through the actors self-filming. The actors recorded voice diaries or danced alone to deal with the loneliness and depression. They did some copy editing, made deliveries, or even worked on construction sites for a living.
