In 1905, the sailors on the battleship Potemkin are given political asylum in Romania - an act of defiance against Russia. *The film will be screened with The Wall of the Dead of the Masters section.
Everyone knows the story of the battleship Potemkin for Sergei Eisenstein's classic film. However, few people know that in 1905, the crew of this battleship was granted political asylum in Romania as a sign of defiance against Russia. Inspired by this event, Sculptor Alexandru Dabija created an artwork. Radu JUDE makes this short a special comedy where art and film work to commemorate the past. (Sung MOON)
