Popee is Suhyun's dog. When Popee dies of illness, Suhyun decides to make a movie about a pet dog, looking back on his relationship with Popee.

Director KIM Jeehyun's Popee was made when people used 'pet' rather than 'companion animal' to refer to the animal they are raising. And it is a lovely film. The diverse stories related to dogs reveal the desires of people who reflect themselves through their dogs, but also their true love and affection for dogs and their longing for interaction. What makes Popee a lovely film is down to Bek Hyunjin, who plays the main character. He made his acting debut with Flower Island directed by Song Il-gon, which was a significant role. He confidently shows his unique style of acting here, despite this being his first starring role. Bek Hyunjin also sang the theme song Popee. (MOON Seok)
