Stars in the Ordinary Universe
Three stories from three different earths in the multiverse...
Earth #1 A high school girl cuts class to discover the meaning of life.
Earth #2 A beggar tells the story of how he became a homeless philosopher.
Earth #3 A man who only tells the truth, unwittingly causes everyone to leave him.
Director KIM Bowon's Stars in the Ordinary Universe is a feature film based on Bizarre Research of a High School Girl, which was screened in the Korean Competition for Shorts at the 20th JEONJU IFF. It consists of Bizarre Research of A High School Girl, which takes a girl as the main character and tells a reckless story about superior DNA, The King of Beggars, which interestingly shows the eventful life of a beggar, and The One Who Knows the Truth about a man who became a loner after talking about the truth that others feel uncomfortable. The main characters in these stories appear in other short stories to complete the multi-universe worldview that the director is pursuing. The story of these people following each other's tail develops so bizarrely that it is impossible to predict where it will go, but in that delightful laugh, Stars in the Ordinary Universe shows a small yet precious truth. The film was also invited to the Slamdance Film Festival this year. (MOON Seok)
