Ida, the captain, and her five sailors are the protagonists of this particular adventure that takes place on beaches and boats. Human Flowers of Flesh draws on historical and cinematographic myths to tell us a story in which drift is the way that the film, and the behavior of its characters, take over. Despite the fact that a simple description of its plot could make us believe that we are facing a typical adventure movie, even adventures from other times, where the Foreign Legion was a possible destination to escape from everyday life, Human Flowers of Flesh offers us another kind of movie. A film where life seems to take place in other spaces and times, where the modern world and its worries seem to have been far away, just as a possible place of return. (Sung MOON)
