Overview

Yoshikawa, a travel agency employee, visits a town in the suburbs to do research for a new tourism project. While walking along a nearby riverbed, she meets Doi, who skips stones. He suggests various games to play together, and Yoshikawa gradually gets absorbed into the games they create.

Review

A woman goes to an unfamiliar country town. As she wanders around, asking about fun or interesting places, she meets a man by a river and spends time with him, doing simple, playful activities like skipping stones. She plans to go back home but voluntarily goes back to him. After dark, they part, and she goes home the next morning after getting some sleep in an office. There is a Stone has barely any narrative. The only thing that could be called an event is when the woman throws a stone, which she chooses from a stony area, into the river by mistake, and the man searches for it obsessively. What is revealed in the process is the connection they form. At first glance, the man seems to approach her with a selfish motive, but their relationship develops differently from how viewers might imagine. There is a Stone makes audiences repeatedly return to when the two people spend a day together. (MOON Seok)
