Farewell
Yeong-ju lost a friend because of the 'Seoul Halloween crowd crush' in 2022. Unable to recover from the trauma, she took a leave of absence from college and volunteered to give career counselling to middle school students while undergoing psychiatric treatment. As time passed and both her treatment and volunteer work came to an end, the traumatic autumn came around again.

As a middle school career counselling volunteer period comes to an end, the first anniversary of a friend's death approaches as well. Farewell, which begins as a staring contest between two people and ends when one person's stare stops, does not chaotically shake up its story or add unnecessary special effects. It simply focuses on the face of a person who has gone through periods of grief, chases their footsteps, and stops in front of them for a moment. In this process, their trajectory, the place they stop and stand, and the view they see become a part of the film. Instead of giving a hasty emotional outpour, this film believes in approaching events quickly and stepping through different stages of waiting. The two camera pans in the school field spanning two distinct "goodbye" moments also create an unforgettable moment. (KIM Byeonggyu)
