BlackBerry
The "true story" of the meteoric rise and catastrophic demise of the world's first smartphone, BlackBerry is a whirlwind ride through a ruthlessly competitive Silicon Valley at breakneck speeds.

The movie is about the rise and fall of BlackBerry, the first smartphone in history—from the birth of BlackBerry, when a Canadian start-up company realized the idea of making and manufacturing smartphones, the rise to fame during the brief period when BlackBerry dominated the world with its market share of 45%, to its disappearance. Although based on a true story and dealing with severe ups and downs for a few years, the filmmaker's outstanding choices and talent led the film to focus more on personal relationships and friendship rather than being a biographical movie. Two friends who started a business together make entirely different choices facing future possibilities, as we probably heard from a realistic fable. The film also asks what constitutes core values of life when a huge success can quickly turn into an equally colossal failure. The two friends dreamed of changing the world. In the end, it was the world that changed them. (Sung MOON)
