Review

As a middle school senior, Jaesung's daily life revolves around home, school, and hagwon (private institute). Inline skating during his commutes is his only “breathing space.” One day, Jaesung's inline skates are stolen. As he searches for them, the film reveals that his classmate Sangwoo is the one who took them, and Sangwoo is weighed down by his strict parents' severe surveillance. Inline underscores the need for room to breathe within a controlled system and presents the possibility of liberation through the body in a sensory way. The inline skating sequence, captured with fluid cinematography, is truly remarkable. (MOON Hyein | Actor·Director)
