The film opens with a striking aerial shot of Lima, Peru. Though it's the capital, the city's roads are eerily empty like a landscape in a science fiction. Because the backdrop of this film is the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when the world stood still and almost everyone turned to the media. For Ramón, the global crisis arrives alongside personal pain: a breakup and the death of his estranged father, Ramón. On his journey to lay his father to rest in his father's hometown, he is joined by Mateo, a Spanish man he met by chance. Together, they travel to the hometown where Ramón's uncle lives and discover Peru all over again. And Ramón is healed from the still-open wounds about his father. The film not only about friendship between the two men but about how family can both be sources for pain and solace at the same time. (CHUN Jinsu)
