Overview

An experimental collage of visual and audio elements. A homage to Alex Chilton and Luis Buñuel.

Review

This mysterious, adventurous film in an avant-garde mode – mixing still frames, clips from Luis Buñuel's L'Âge d'or (1930) and a collage of diverse music tracks – offers an example of Mousoulis' lyrical, poetic, non-narrative work. The occasion documented is an evening at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival of 2009, where Bill was a guest (he curated a program for that festival the following year). More specifically, we glimpse the audience members (including filmmaker Maximilian Le Cain, curator Michele Carey – and myself) at an 'expanded cinema' show by the French trio, Metamkine, held in an abandoned church. Note the title: not Buñuel's exterminating angel, but an angel of experimentation! (Adrian MARTIN | Film Critic)
