Welcome to the first-ever edition of JEONJU IFF’s newsletter!
As 2020 was a tough year for all of us, we are giving support to all people in the film industry and all cinephiles.
Festival director LEE Joondong said, “Hopefully, JEONJU IFF can give good answers about what sustainable film festivals will be in this COVID-19 pandemic. We will do our best to make JEONJU IFF a place to talk and share about the future of cinema.”
💌 Film goes on as life goes on!
While deciding our new slogan, BTS’s Life Goes On was one of the most talked-about songs. We would like to share this song’s music video. It was much comfort for us because we keep navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Let´s share BTS´s music video!
Based on last year´s 114-day hybrid edition which was the longest schedule ever in the pandemic, JEONJU IFF is looking for new possibilities through various projects and campaigns along with the new slogan.
Like the song’s lyrics, “life goes on like this again,” time passes and the story continues.
Films reflect on our lives in various ways. So why not films?
We will incorporate this experience we have built up into the planning of this year’s event. For filmmakers and audiences, we will continually figure out ways to bring the best films to the coronavirus-safe festival!
The 22nd JEONJU IFF will take place with full programs from April 29 to May 8, 2021.
We hope you will find this fortnightly publication useful to find out the latest news about films and the progress of JEONJU IFF.
JEONJU Cinema Project is one of the major programs of JEONJU IFF, which supports the production and investment of independent feature-length art films from the world.
Starting 2021, JEONJU Cinema Project has recruited entries at all times of the year, not for certain times.
