Born in 1965, Lebrija, Spain. He studied at the International Film School San Juan de Los Banos in Habana, his first feature Solas(1999) was awarded at various film festivals including Berlin Film Festival(the Audiences’ Award), Tokyo Film Festival and Brussels European Film Festival, and his second feature Habana Blues(2005) was also acclaimed by numerous film festivals.
