Born in 1974, Montevideo, Uruguay. He graduated in Social Communication at the Catholic University of Uruguay in 1999. Together with Juan Pablo Rebella they scripted and directed the film 25 Watts (2001), which was given the Tiger Award in Rotterdam. Their second film Whisky (2004) had been awarded the Sundance/NHK for Best Screenplay in 2003 and was later selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004.
