Review

The film is based on the autobiography of reporter cameraman Kamoshida Yutaka. Tsukahara Yasu is divorced and cannot see his children because of his alcohol-dependency. He finally enters a rehab hospital because of worsened health conditions. A warm story about people connected through destiny even amidst despair.

Higashi Yoichi

Born in 1934 in Japan. Graduated from Waseda University and began working at Iwanami Productions. After going freelance in 1962, his first film was a short, A Face His A River with No Bridge won best director at the Mainichi Film Awards and other prizes. Village of Dreams won a Silver Bear at the Berlin film festival among other awards.
