A locksmith and an acrobat - Dragoljub Aleksic - made a film in 1942. in occupied city of Belgrade. That was a film about strength of body and will, about social injustice, about tender love and about himself.

Dušan Makavejev

Born in 1932, Belgrade, Serbia (former Kingom of Yugoslavia). He played the leading role for Yogoslavic cinema through the late 1960s onward to early 1970s. His first three feature films gave him a worldwide fame, but his WR: Mysteries of the organism was banned in Yugoslavia due to the sensational sexual descriptions and satires on politics; it enforced him go into exile. He could go back home only in 1988.
