Sung Jihye studied film directing at Korean Academy of Film Arts and obtain a Ph.D degree with a study on French film director, Jean Eustache in Paris 8 University. She directed Before The Summer Passes way(2006), The Grass Is Greener(2010). An American Friend is her third feature film.
