Born in Mexico City in 1981, Natalia Beristain graduated cum laude from the Centro de Capacitacion Cinematografica with film direction as her concentration. Her short film Banana Fish was awarded the Best Mexican Short Film in the 5th International Film Festival of Morelia, and in 2008 screened at the Cannes Film Festival as part of the Official Selection of the Critics Week. Her first feature film, She Doesn’t Want To Sleep Alone , premiered at the International Critic’s Week of the Venice Film Festival in 2012 and recently won Best Feature Film at the Morelia international Film Festival.
